Miss Lyndsey Nelson (Manager and Owner)
Before leaving school, I had made my mind up that I wanted to work with children. I was lucky enough to visit a Montessori School and was so amazed by what I saw that I immediately knew that I wanted to train to be a Montessori Directress.
After leaving school, I trained with the Maria Montessori Training Organisation in Hampstead (now known as The Maria Montessori Institute) in 1980, where I obtained my AMI Montessori Diploma (Level 4). On finishing my Diploma, I was exceptionally lucky to be able to work in an excellent, well-established, genuine Montessori School in Ealing, where I learnt so much and was inspired to start up my own School.
I have been running The Beehive Montessori School since 1990 and I work full-time at the school. I am passionate about Montessori and thrive to create a genuine Montessori approach in my school rather than just make use of its name. I have seen, at first hand, the joy on the children’s faces each day as they make discoveries for themselves and, also, the self-confidence and respect that this special approach gives the children.
I am the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) of the school, having received training for this role. I regularly attend local SENCO meetings to keep myself informed of changes and updates. I have received training in Inclusion, Dyspraxia, ADHD, ASD, Speech & Language Difficulties, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, Fire safety and Safeguarding Children. I am also a qualified Paediatric First Aider.
I have a wonderful team of staff working at The Beehive, all of whom are dedicated to the wellbeing of each and every child in our care and who have a wide range of experience and qualifications.
